A law firm seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to support its Construction Law practice. The role involves collaborating with supervising attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants to provide high-quality legal services. The position is remote, offering flexibility while requiring strong organizational skills and a commitment to client communication and case management.

Duties

  • Maintain 35 billable hours per week.
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory deadlines.
  • Represent clients in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials as needed.
  • Assist supervising attorneys in strategizing and managing cases, including regular strategy meetings.
  • Respond to client communications promptly, typically within 24 hours.
  • Stay informed on case details, upcoming hearings, and deadlines, ensuring proper calendaring.
  • Evaluate cases continuously to align with client goals and prepare for trial, whether bench or jury.
  • Maintain knowledge of legal developments through continuing legal education.

Requirements

  • 4-7 years of relevant legal experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proven time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Experience in remote work environments is a plus.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law and membership in the State Bar of Texas.
