Wealth and Succession Planning Attorney

Job Overview: A prestigious law firm is seeking a highly qualified Wealth and Succession Planning Attorney with a minimum of 4 years of experience to join an established and dynamic Wealth and Succession Planning Group. This role offers the opportunity to work with high-net-worth individuals on a broad range of estate planning matters, including the preparation of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and more. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in trusts and estates law, as well as a growing understanding of state and federal tax laws, with the ability to work collaboratively within a supportive and collegial environment.

Location:

Duties:

• Drafting and reviewing estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, and related legal instruments.
• Providing guidance on decedent's estates, gift tax returns, and estate tax returns.
• Advising clients on tax-efficient wealth transfer strategies.
• Assisting with family limited partnerships, limited liability companies, installment sales, and other related transactions.
• Staying up-to-date on state and federal tax laws, with the ability to apply these to client matters.
• Collaborating with other legal professionals and departments to ensure comprehensive client services.

Requirements:

• Minimum 4 years of experience in trusts and estates law.
• Proven ability to work with high-net-worth individuals on estate planning and related matters.
• Experience with drafting estate planning documents and tax-related filings, including gift and estate tax returns.
• Familiarity with complex estate planning structures, such as family limited partnerships and LLCs, is preferred.

Education:

• J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications:

• Must be admitted to the Illinois Bar and in good standing.
