Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a Mid-Level IP Patent Prosecution Attorney to join its growing Intellectual Property Practice Group. The successful candidate will have at least three years of experience in patent prosecution, including patent search, analysis, drafting and filing applications, and portfolio management. Experience with mechanical, biomedical, and medical devices is preferred. Litigation experience is a plus but not required.

Location:

  • Philadelphia, PA

Duties:

  • Manage and prosecute patent applications across various industries
  • Conduct patent searches and provide analysis to support intellectual property strategies
  • Draft and file patent applications with the USPTO
  • Assist with strategic portfolio management and IP counseling
  • Collaborate with clients to assess and protect their intellectual property
  • Optional involvement in IP litigation

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in patent prosecution
  • Strong understanding of patent law and prosecution procedures
  • Experience with mechanical, biomedical, or medical devices (preferred)
  • Litigation experience (preferred, but not required)
  • Strong client communication and relationship management skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, biomedical science, or a related technical field (preferred)

Certifications:

  • Admission to the state bar
  • USPTO registration (required)
