A law firm in Irvine, CA, is seeking a Student Services and Disabilities Associate Attorney to support senior associates, of counsel, and partners in the Student Services and Disabilities Law Practice Group (SSDLPG).

Job Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on student services and disabilities law issues.
  • Assist in drafting and reviewing legal documents, including memoranda, briefs, contracts, and agreements related to educational law.
  • Provide support in negotiations, mediations, and dispute resolutions involving educational institutions, students, and parents.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and prepare for hearings and trials.
  • Attend client meetings and hearings, and represent clients in administrative proceedings as necessary.
  • Maintain client relationships and ensure effective communication and responsiveness to client inquiries.
  • Stay updated on developments in student services law, disabilities law, and educational regulations.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California State Bar or eligibility for admission through reciprocity.
  • 2-5 years of experience practicing in student services, disabilities law, or related fields.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated commitment to client service and professionalism.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Certification or coursework in education law, disabilities law, or related areas is advantageous.
