Job Overview:
A premier law firm is seeking an Associate Immigration Attorney to join its team in Dallas, TX. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 1 to 4 years of experience in immigration law to gain valuable experience and further their career. The role involves managing caseloads, interacting with clients, and collaborating with a team of immigration professionals to provide legal solutions. The position offers substantial growth potential within the firm.

Location:

  • Dallas, TX

Duties:

  • Explain immigration concepts and provide strategic legal solutions
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals
  • Manage a diverse caseload of immigration cases
  • Visit and conduct intake with detained individuals at centers
  • Prepare various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions
  • Review immigration applications/packets, making adjustments as necessary
  • Present to and collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on changes in immigration law
  • Conduct strategic immigration consultations with potential clients and determine necessary legal strategies
  • Develop legal strategies and prepare clients/witnesses for court/USCIS testimony
  • Provide legal analysis to determine potential case benefits
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration cases

Requirements:

  • 1 to 4 years of experience in Immigration Law
  • A team player, open to strategizing and collaborating with other associates
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively
  • Proven track record of moving legal cases forward and managing a caseload
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian Relief, EOIR, Detained Immigration, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications
  • Experience with Case Management Software is preferred

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of immigration law and procedures
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analysis skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Exceptional communication and client interaction skills
  • Proficiency in legal case management software
