Job Overview: A prominent law firm is currently seeking a motivated Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Junior Associate with 2-3 years of relevant privacy experience. This role offers the opportunity to work on privacy incident response, compliance counseling, risk management, and privacy litigation. Location:

  • San Antonio, TX

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel on data privacy and cybersecurity matters, including incident response, compliance counseling, and risk management
  • Advise clients on privacy laws and regulations, including CCPA, GLBA, HIPAA, and state biometric and health laws
  • Assist with privacy litigation and regulatory matters
  • Draft and review privacy policies, contracts, and agreements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with privacy laws
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in data privacy and cybersecurity
  • Knowledge of privacy incident response, compliance counseling, risk management, and privacy litigation
  • Familiarity with state privacy laws, sectorial laws, breach reporting laws, and federal privacy laws (CCPA, GLBA, HIPAA, state biometric and health laws)
  • Admission to the State Bar

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • CIPP/US certification preferred
  • If not already certified, obtaining the CIPP/US certification within one year of hire is required
