A law firm in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Corporate Associate Attorney with a strong interest in health law issues and trends. The ideal candidate will have a background in corporate transactions, particularly involving provider health care organizations, and a solid understanding of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, regulatory compliance, fraud and abuse laws, and/or HIPAA. The role requires exceptional writing, research, and analytical skills, and a commitment to outstanding academic and professional standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal counsel on corporate transactions, particularly involving health care providers.
  • Draft and negotiate various corporate agreements, including mergers and acquisitions.
  • Advise clients on Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, regulatory compliance, and HIPAA matters.
  • Conduct legal research and analyze complex legal issues related to health law and corporate transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including fraud and abuse laws.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to address legal and regulatory issues.
  • Stay current on health law trends and developments to provide informed legal advice.
  • Prepare and review legal documents, including contracts, regulatory filings, and compliance reports.

Requirements:

  • Admission to the New York State Bar.
  • Outstanding academic credentials from an accredited law school.
  • 3+ years of experience in corporate law, particularly in mergers and acquisitions, healthcare law, and/or regulatory legal compliance.
  • Strong interest in health law issues and trends.
  • Experience with Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, regulatory compliance, fraud and abuse laws, and/or HIPAA is preferred.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar.
