Senior Immigration Attorney

Duties

• Represent detained and non-detained clients before Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals

• Provide legal counsel and develop case strategies for clients in removal and family-based immigration proceedings

• Manage a robust caseload involving diverse immigration applications and petitions

• Oversee intake procedures and visit detained individuals at immigration centers

• Review and finalize immigration applications prepared by legal staff

• Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial agencies, and community organizations to stay current on immigration law developments

• Conduct client consultations and assess legal options

• Prepare clients and witnesses for testimony before immigration authorities and USCIS

• Draft and submit legal briefs, motions, and supporting documents

• Mentor and work alongside junior attorneys and paralegals to ensure service quality and case efficiency

Requirements

• 5 to 8 years of experience in immigration law

• Strong track record of managing complex immigration cases through to resolution

• Excellent client communication and legal strategy development skills

• Comfortable leading case teams and mentoring junior staff

• Proven success in both detained and non-detained immigration representation

• Familiarity with family-based petitions, humanitarian relief, EOIR, citizenship, and USCIS processes

• Proficiency with immigration case management systems preferred

• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in any U.S. state (in good standing)
