Job Overview
A law firm is seeking a mid-level Litigation Associate to join its growing team in Seattle. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of litigation matters, including government-related cases, eminent domain, insurance coverage, and commercial litigation. The ideal candidate will have significant case management experience, strong litigation skills, and a client-service approach. The position also provides an opportunity to develop as a trial lawyer while working with a collaborative and experienced team across multiple offices.

Duties

  • Work on government, real estate, and commercial litigation matters, including public records, open meetings, and eminent domain issues.
  • Manage cases for municipal government and private clients, focusing on insurance coverage, creditors’ rights, bankruptcy, and commercial litigation.
  • Handle case management responsibilities, including making court appearances, taking and defending depositions, and managing discovery.
  • Collaborate with attorneys from various offices to develop and execute case strategies.
  • Provide excellent client service and communication throughout litigation processes.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Washington; admission in Oregon or willingness to become admitted is a plus.
  • Minimum of 4 years of litigation experience, including trial work.
  • Experience making court appearances, taking and defending depositions, and managing discovery.
  • Strong academic credentials and excellent analytical and writing skills.
  • Client-service oriented with exceptional communication skills.
  • Ability to manage significant individual responsibilities.

Education

  • JD (Juris Doctor) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar membership in Washington; Oregon bar admission is a plus.

  • Strong written and oral advocacy skills.
  • Excellent case management and legal research abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to handle complex litigation matters.
