Duties:

  • Provide strategic guidance to clients on immigration matters and explain complex concepts in accessible terms.
  • Represent detained and non-detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA).
  • Manage a diverse caseload, including removal defense and family-based immigration cases.
  • Conduct client intake interviews, including visits to detention centers, and assess case viability.
  • Prepare, review, and submit various immigration petitions and applications.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on immigration law changes and best practices.
  • Lead strategic consultations with prospective clients and develop tailored immigration strategies.
  • Assist in preparing clients and witnesses for hearings and testimony before USCIS and courts.
  • Analyze legal issues and provide in-depth assessments of case strengths and potential outcomes.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration-related cases.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1-4 years of experience in Immigration Law.
  • Strong caseload management skills, with the ability to prioritize and execute in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Proven track record of advancing legal cases and achieving favorable results for clients.
  • Experience handling Family-Based Petitions, EOIR cases, detained client representation, humanitarian relief, citizenship applications, and other USCIS petitions.
  • Familiarity with case management software is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the state of Texas.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to the Bar in Texas or willing to become licensed in Texas.

  • In-depth knowledge of immigration law and procedure.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
