A law firm seeks a Corporate Real Estate Associate to join its Columbus, Ohio office. This position is ideal for an attorney who will assist with purchase and sale transactions, commercial leasing, and real estate financing. The successful candidate will also be responsible for performing title and survey reviews, drafting agreements and amendments, and providing general support to the real estate practice group.

Duties:

  • Assist in the negotiation and management of purchase and sale transactions.
  • Handle commercial leasing matters and facilitate real estate financing arrangements.
  • Perform thorough title and survey reviews to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
  • Draft key real estate documents, including commercial leases and purchase/sale agreements.
  • Collaborate with the real estate practice group to support their diverse needs.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years of relevant real estate experience, preferably in an AMLaw 200 or comparable private law firm environment.
  • Must be admitted to practice law in the state of Ohio.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar admission in Ohio.

Skills:

  • Proven ability to draft and negotiate key real estate documents effectively.
  • Strong understanding of title, survey, and title insurance standards.
  • Experience managing commercial lease negotiations and purchase/sale transactions independently.
  • Strong work ethic and a desire to develop as a valued member of the Real Estate Practice Group.
  • High emotional intelligence and humility in professional interactions.
  • Exceptional project management abilities, with the capacity to handle competing deadlines.
  • Willingness to collaborate and work effectively within teams.
  • Ability to devise creative solutions for complex challenges and foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
