Job Overview

A law firm seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join its civil litigation practice. This role is ideal for early-career attorneys looking to develop hands-on experience in a fast-paced, diverse legal environment. Duties

  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and client correspondence
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategy and argument development
  • Assist in preparing for and participating in depositions, hearings, and court proceedings
  • Collaborate with clients to address ongoing legal questions and provide day-to-day counsel
  • Manage assigned case files and stay on top of deadlines, court requirements, and case updates
  • Review and analyze case documents, evidence, and discovery materials
  • Attend court hearings and participate in case conferences, settlement discussions, and client meetings

Requirements

  • Admission to the California State Bar is required for Associate-level candidates
  • Candidates awaiting California Bar results may be considered for a temporary law clerk role, with the opportunity to transition into an Associate Attorney position upon licensure
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple cases and priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities, particularly in legal drafting and client interactions
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Interest or experience in construction defect litigation, insurance defense, and/or public entity representation is a plus

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active California Bar license (required for Associate level)
