Litigation Associate Civil & Insurance Defense

A law firm seeks to hire two experienced civil litigation associates to join their team in Coral Gables, FL. The firm is looking for individuals with 1-3 years of experience in civil litigation, particularly in the areas of insurance defense, construction, and professional liability. The successful candidates will handle a diverse caseload, manage litigation from start to finish, and work closely with partners and senior attorneys. Duties:

• Manage and litigate cases in both state and federal courts under the guidance of senior attorneys.
• Conduct and defend depositions, and draft motions, pleadings, and discovery requests/responses.
• Perform legal research and write memorandums to support case strategies.
• Attend hearings, court conferences, and site inspections, collaborating with clients, experts, and witnesses.
• Consult with expert witnesses to develop case strategies.
• Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients, aiming for favorable resolutions.
• Assist in trial preparation and attend trials as necessary.
• Provide initial analysis of cases and contribute to the development of litigation strategies.
• Maintain a high level of organization, attention to detail, and effective time management in managing a caseload.

Requirements:

• At least 1-3 years of experience in civil litigation.
• Prior experience in insurance defense, construction law, and/or professional liability is preferred.
• Strong skills in depositions, litigation, motions, pleadings, and discovery processes.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with senior attorneys.
• Exceptional analytical, writing, and communication skills.
• Conscientious, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
• Strong desire to succeed in a challenging and dynamic environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active and in good standing with the Florida Bar.
