Job Overview:

A well-established and rapidly growing law firm is seeking a highly qualified Mass Tort Attorney to take on the responsibility of managing multiple Mass Tort dockets. The successful candidate will work closely with the firm’s leadership and legal staff, ensuring the seamless management of cases from inception through resolution. The role requires effective coordination with remote team members and demands excellent organizational and data management skills. Experience in complex litigation such as product liability, pharmaceutical litigation, or environmental contamination is preferred.

Duties:

• Manage and monitor the progress of active Mass Tort cases to ensure they are advancing through each litigation phase efficiently.
• Report case status regularly to senior attorneys and firm leadership.
• Ensure staffing requirements for ongoing cases are met by collaborating with paralegals and supervisors to adjust personnel as needed.
• Assist in developing and refining case management processes, including medical record procurement, vendor coordination, and internal departmental collaboration (e.g., IT, Accounting).
• Serve as a primary point of contact for client inquiries regarding case updates, either responding directly or redirecting questions to the appropriate legal staff.
• Act as a liaison between the managing attorney/firm owner and the legal staff, keeping everyone informed on case progress and critical updates.
• Track and update case information within the firm’s case management software, ensuring accurate record-keeping of case statuses, staff assignments, and client communications.
• Regularly monitor and report on Statutes of Limitations (SOL) for active cases, ensuring timely updates and protection of deadlines.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Illinois State Bar certification.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience managing a high-volume case docket.
• Experience in mass torts-related litigation (e.g., product liability, pharmaceutical, environmental contamination) is a plus.
• Strong organizational and case management skills.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple departments and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Illinois State Bar certification is required.
