Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in White Plains, NY, seeks a motivated Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney to join their team. The role involves representing clients in workers' compensation claims, conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and preparing for hearings and trials before the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board.

Duties:

• Reviewing and analyzing workers' compensation claims
• Conducting extensive legal research and drafting various legal documents, including client correspondence, discovery devices, summations, appeals, and appellate briefs
• Representing clients at depositions and hearings before the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board
• Preparing for trials, including trial attendance and trial preparation
• Retaining and evaluating expert witnesses as necessary

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a practicing attorney, preferably in workers' compensation law
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-approved law school
• Admitted to practice law in the state of New York; admission in other states is a plus
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong research abilities and excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively
• Excellent client management skills and a professional telephone manner
• Prompt responsiveness to email and phone inquiries

Certifications (if any):

• Certification in Workers' Compensation Law (optional, if applicable)
