A law firm in Memphis, TN is seeking an Entry-Level Attorney to assist in all aspects of criminal casework and client care. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated interest in trial practice and be expected to pass the Bar exam in 2024. Responsibilities include drafting motions, attending court appearances, conducting field investigations, and more. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in all aspects of criminal casework, including client care and legal research.
  • Draft and file routine motions, and review discovery materials, including DUI videos.
  • Attend court appearances, conduct field investigations, and interview witnesses.
  • Document case files accurately and maintain well-organized digital records.
  • Prepare for and attend preliminary hearings, and assist in trial preparation.
  • Assess criminal cases to determine potential sentencing outcomes and develop defense strategies.
  • Follow internal protocols to ensure consistent and high-quality client service.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of systems, processes, and checklists within the firm.

Requirements:

  • Law School Graduate with a demonstrated interest in trial law.
  • Expected to pass the Bar exam in 2024.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, client-centered environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and processes.

Skills:

  • Proficient in legal research and drafting legal documents.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
