A law firm in Fort Lauderdale is seeking an Associate Attorney to manage a diverse caseload of Workers' Compensation defense matters. The ideal candidate will work closely with a seasoned Partner to develop litigation strategies and provide exceptional service to clients. Strong writing skills and prior experience in reviewing medical records are highly valued. The role requires effective independent work in a remote setting and a strong comfort level with legal technology and virtual court processes.

Duties:

  • Manage and oversee a diverse caseload of Workers' Compensation defense matters.
  • Collaborate closely with a Partner to develop and implement litigation strategies.
  • Review and analyze medical records to support case development and strategy.
  • Draft clear and concise legal documents, motions, and pleadings.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to address their needs and provide updates on case progress.
  • Work directly with senior attorneys on litigation strategy and client consultations.
  • Effectively manage work independently, including in a remote or virtual environment.
  • Utilize legal technology and virtual court processes proficiently to streamline case management.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active Florida Bar Membership in good standing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Workers' Compensation defense.
  • Proven experience in reviewing medical records and drafting legal documents.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage a remote workload effectively.
  • Prior experience in remote or virtual legal settings is preferred.
  • Strong comfort level with legal technology and virtual court processes.

Education:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Florida Bar.

Skills:

  • Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills.
  • Strong ability to draft legal documents, motions, and pleadings with clarity and precision.
