A law firm seeks an experienced Workers' Compensation Attorney to join its expanding personal injury and property damage practice in New Orleans. The ideal candidate will bring 3-5 years of experience in workers' compensation law, with a passion for plaintiff-side work and a desire for a more flexible and rewarding work environment. Duties:

  • Represent clients in workers’ compensation claims, from initial consultation through resolution.
  • Negotiate settlements and handle hearings before the Workers' Compensation Commission.
  • Provide legal advice to clients on workers' compensation issues, including claims filing, benefits entitlement, and appeals.
  • Draft and file necessary legal documents, including petitions, motions, and discovery.
  • Work closely with clients to build cases, ensuring thorough investigation and documentation.
  • Collaborate with a team of attorneys to develop case strategies and share best practices.
  • Manage a caseload effectively while ensuring clients receive timely and quality service.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in workers’ compensation laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in workers' compensation law, preferably on the plaintiff side.
  • Proven ability to handle a caseload and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to represent clients in hearings and settlement discussions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
