Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking an experienced Healthcare Associate Attorney to join its Healthcare & Insurance Division in Kansas City, Missouri. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on a diverse range of regulatory and transactional matters for healthcare providers, health plans, PBMs, pharmaceutical companies, and medical device manufacturers. The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of experience in health law, with opportunities for professional growth and development within a successful team.

Location:

Duties:

  • Provide regulatory and transactional counsel to healthcare providers, health plans, PBMs, pharmaceutical companies, and medical device manufacturers.
  • Advise on legal compliance and regulatory issues affecting healthcare industries.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Work on healthcare-related compliance matters, including data protection and health information technology.
  • Support clients in navigating healthcare regulations, including advising managed care plans.
  • Conduct legal research and contribute to the development of strategies for complex legal matters.
  • Assist in client meetings and collaborate with senior attorneys.
  • Contribute to business development and client relationship management.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience in health law, with a focus on healthcare providers, health plans, PBMs, pharmaceutical companies, or medical device manufacturers.
  • Experience in regulatory and transactional health law.
  • Background in advising on managed care plans is a plus.
  • Excellent academic credentials and strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Active Bar license in the applicable jurisdiction, or ability to waive into the jurisdiction.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with clients and teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex legal matters effectively.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar license in the applicable state (or ability to waive in).

  • Expertise in healthcare law and regulations.
  • Proficient in drafting and reviewing legal documents.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
