Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Litigation Associate to join their growing Domestic Relations practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing family law cases, resolving complex claims, and building relationships within the community. This position offers an opportunity to work in a hybrid environment and build a thriving practice while collaborating with a supportive team.

Location:

  • Millersburg, Ohio

Duties:

  • Represent clients in domestic relations cases, including family law and dispute resolution.
  • Maintain a regular schedule of hearings, court appearances, and client conferences.
  • Attend trials and court proceedings as needed.
  • Advise clients on legal matters and offer resolutions for complex family-related disputes.
  • Supervise and participate in mediation sessions.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review legal documents.
  • Regularly interact with caseworkers, guardians ad litem, supervisors, and program administrators.
  • Maintain and organize all official case documents in compliance with firm policies.
  • Work with various professionals such as accountants, psychologists, doctors, and social workers.
  • Resolve disputes through alternative dispute resolution methods.
  • Update clients regularly about their cases.
  • Ensure timely filing of documents with the appropriate courts and agencies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, community organizations, and businesses.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support firm practice areas.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as a practicing attorney.
  • Ability to manage high-stress situations with emotional intelligence.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable with remote work while being able to travel for hearings and trials.
  • Active member of the Ohio Bar.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Ohio Bar.

Skills:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in managing family law cases and complex legal issues.
  • Excellent negotiation and mediation skills.
