A prestigious law firm located in Miami, FL is seeking an Associate Attorney specializing in General Liability, with a focus on Medical Malpractice and Assisted Living/Long Term Care defense. This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys with 3-10 years of experience in these areas who are licensed to practice in Florida. The ideal candidate will join a team dedicated to providing comprehensive legal representation to a diverse range of clients, defending against complex liability claims.

Duties

  • Review and summarize medical records to support client advocacy.
  • Draft motions, prepare legal documents, and represent clients in court hearings.
  • Prepare clients for depositions and attend depositions as required.
  • Draft and submit reports throughout various stages of litigation, including trial and appellate activities.
  • Respond to discovery requests and draft motions related to discovery.
  • Regularly attend court appearances to represent client interests.
  • Take and defend depositions of both fact and expert witnesses.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Florida.
  • 3-10 years of experience in defending General Liability claims, including Medical Malpractice and Assisted Living/Long Term Care.
  • Experience with discovery, motions, depositions, and court appearances.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to the Florida Bar.

Certifications

  • Must hold a valid license to practice law in Florida.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to handle complex legal matters.
  • Excellent research, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with drafting and responding to discovery-related motions.
