Senior Counsel for New York City Office

Job Overview: A law firm seeks a skilled and experienced Senior Counsel with expertise in complex commercial litigation to join its dynamic team in New York, NY. This position involves handling all phases of litigation, including trials and alternative dispute resolution (ADR), with a focus on achieving client success through innovative and strategic legal approaches. The ideal candidate brings a minimum of 8 years of litigation experience and a proactive mindset geared toward collaborative client service and litigation strategy.

Duties:

• Manage and lead all phases of commercial litigation cases, from initial analysis to final resolution.
• Serve as lead counsel in trials, arbitration, and mediation proceedings, providing strategic case management.
• Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery documents, briefs, and appellate briefs.
• Represent clients in court appearances, including arguing motions and attending conferences.
• Engage in strategic planning to deliver optimal outcomes for clients.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, offering accessible, high-quality legal counsel and creative solutions.
• Collaborate with other legal team members to serve client interests effectively.

Requirements:

• Experience: A minimum of 8 years of experience in complex commercial litigation.
• Trial, ADR, and Appeals Experience: Demonstrated ability to handle cases from inception through appeal.
• Availability: Must be available to work on-site, five days a week in New York, NY.
• Preferred Experience: Knowledge of co-op and condominium law; experience in employment counseling is a plus.

Education:

• Degree: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Licensure: Active New York State Bar membership in good standing.

Certifications:

• Active and valid New York State Bar license.
