A law firm seeks an experienced Immigration Attorney to join its team in Phoenix, Arizona. This role is ideal for a committed attorney with a passion for defending clients' rights and achieving impactful results. The successful candidate will independently manage their caseload, interact with clients, and work closely with a collaborative team of attorneys and legal assistants, reporting directly to the Managing Immigration Attorney. Duties

  • Explain immigration processes and provide clients with strategic solutions.
  • Represent both non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a caseload, ensuring all cases move forward efficiently and effectively.
  • Conduct intake assessments and visits with detained clients at detention centers.
  • Prepare a variety of immigration applications, including those for removal defense and family-based immigration.
  • Review, adjust, and finalize immigration applications and packets as needed.
  • Engage with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations regarding changes in immigration law.
  • Consult with potential clients to assess cases and determine appropriate legal strategies.
  • Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court or USCIS testimonies.
  • Provide legal analysis to help clients understand potential case outcomes and benefits.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for a range of immigration cases.

Requirements

  • Experience: 3-5 years in immigration law, with experience handling family-based petitions, humanitarian cases, EOIR cases, detention cases, citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional interpersonal abilities, with a client-focused and collaborative approach.
  • Case Management: Proven ability to manage a caseload independently and drive cases forward.
  • Language Skills: Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required.
  • Technology Skills: Familiarity with case management software is an advantage.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar license to practice law.

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to clients.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a willingness to support and strategize with colleagues.
