A law firm seeks a skilled Associate Attorney to join its Chicago office, specializing in mortgage foreclosure litigation. This role offers the opportunity to manage foreclosure cases from start to finish, providing comprehensive legal services to clients. The ideal candidate will have experience handling litigation matters and demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills. As part of an established legal team, the new Associate will contribute to the firm’s growth while receiving mentorship and support for professional development.

Duties:

  • Independently manage mortgage foreclosure cases, handling all aspects from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct detailed legal research and draft various legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and court filings.
  • Oversee a foreclosure litigation caseload, ensuring compliance with all deadlines.
  • Represent clients in court settings, including trials, hearings, and depositions.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, providing them with updates and expert legal advice.
  • Collaborate with fellow attorneys and legal staff to deliver high-quality legal services.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Illinois State Bar.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in foreclosure litigation.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle litigation cases from start to finish, including trials.
  • Strong research, analytical, and writing capabilities.
  • Familiarity with LPS/Black Knight and Tempo preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage a busy caseload, and work independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Illinois State Bar.

Skills:

  • Strong research, writing, and analytical abilities.
  • Proficient in managing litigation cases independently.
  • Excellent communication and client management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a legal team.
  • Knowledge of LPS/Black Knight and Tempo is a plus.
