Job Overview: A law firm seeks a dedicated, experienced Immigration Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will handle USCIS and USCIS-related immigration cases, conduct consultations with potential new clients, and collaborate closely with firm attorneys and paralegals. This role involves preparing clients for immigration court hearings, managing a diverse workload, and providing strategic legal solutions to complex immigration issues. Fluency in Spanish and a commitment to client service are essential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct consultations with potential new clients to determine appropriate immigration strategies.
  • Work with firm attorneys and paralegals to prepare clients for Individual and Master Hearings before immigration courts.
  • Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions to clients.
  • Manage a caseload of diverse immigration cases, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Prepare and review immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
  • Present and collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on immigration law changes.
  • Develop strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for USCIS interviews.
  • Provide legal analysis to clients to identify potential case benefits.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.
  • Coordinate case and legal strategies with other team members.
  • Prepare and manage case filings and deadlines.
  • Review, edit, and prepare briefs, cover letters, and case filings for submission to USCIS.
  • Research unique legal issues and stay updated on legislative changes impacting immigration.
  • Develop solutions for complex legal issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the firm's partners.

Requirements:

  • J.D. from an ABA Accredited Law School.
  • Active Bar License in Good Standing from any U.S. state or territory (including DC and Puerto Rico).
  • Fluent in Spanish.
  • 1-4 years of experience in immigration law.

  • Strong understanding of USCIS and immigration court procedures.
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Ability to explain complex legal concepts to clients.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop strategic solutions for complex legal issues.
  • Proficient in managing case deadlines and filings.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA Accredited Law School.
  • Active Bar License in Good Standing from any U.S. state or territory.
