Job Overview:
A law firm located in Temecula, CA is actively seeking a seasoned attorney with extensive knowledge of New Mexico foreclosure processes and a solid grounding in title law, particularly post-sale marketability. This role involves representing clients in court, guiding legal support staff, and managing a robust docket of litigation matters across multiple practice areas. Duties:

  • Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and related proceedings across New Mexico jurisdictions

  • Draft, review, and finalize legal documents including pleadings, motions, correspondence, and legal memoranda

  • Oversee post-foreclosure processes, including evictions and surplus proceeds claims

  • Direct and collaborate with paralegal teams on litigation support, nonjudicial foreclosure workflows, and document preparation

  • Maintain consistent communication with clients and internal departments to ensure timely case progression

  • Conduct legal research and prepare case strategies for new assignments

  • Supervise and review legal documents prepared by team members for accuracy and compliance

  • Provide mentoring and feedback to junior staff on legal procedures and standards

  • Record and track billable hours with precision and consistency

  • Ensure ongoing compliance with legal and ethical obligations

  • Attend and participate in CLEs and professional development initiatives

  • Travel as needed for court appearances and in-person meetings

Requirements:

  • Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of New Mexico

  • 5-8 years of hands-on legal experience, ideally within foreclosure, title litigation, or real property law

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume caseload across multiple legal domains

  • Experience in bankruptcy and creditors' rights litigation is highly advantageous

  • Strong analytical thinking and written communication skills

  • Willingness to travel within New Mexico for hearings and other legal obligations

  • Proficiency with legal research platforms and timekeeping software

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license with the New Mexico State Bar

Skills:

  • Excellent client communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proficient in drafting complex legal documents
