Associate Attorney - First Party Property Insurance Defense Litigation

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to join its First Party Property Insurance Defense Litigation team in Sunrise, Florida. Duties

• Advise insurance company clients on matters including claims liability, the advisability of litigation, and legal obligations.
• Research legal issues and precedents relevant to client matters.
• Interpret and analyze laws, rulings, and regulations to guide client decision-making.
• Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
• Conduct legal research, interview witnesses, and review evidence to determine the best strategy for defense.
• Develop and present case strategies, including evaluating potential outcomes and risks.
• Represent clients in pretrial hearings and court proceedings, presenting arguments to judges and juries.
• Negotiate settlements and advise clients on the most effective resolution of disputes.
• Collaborate with clients and team members to structure, draft, and review legal documents.
• Assist with the development of company policy and legal strategies.
• Manage administrative functions related to the practice of law and ensure compliance with regulations.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense or related fields.
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Experience in negotiating settlements and managing client relationships.
• Proficiency in preparing and presenting legal documents and arguments.
• Ability to handle multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.

• Willingness to travel for court appearances and hearings as necessary.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the Florida State Bar (or eligibility to practice in Florida).
