A law firm in Farmington Hills, MI is seeking a Foreclosure Attorney to represent the interests of mortgage lenders and servicers throughout the foreclosure process in Vermont. The ideal candidate will oversee all stages of foreclosure proceedings, collaborate with support staff, and provide legal counsel to clients.

 

Duties:

  • Oversee and work closely with support staff in drafting and reviewing all documentation necessary to complete a judicial mortgage foreclosure in Vermont.
  • Engage in related matters, including debt disputes and defense to counterclaims and other actions to enjoin foreclosure.
  • Oversee all stages of the foreclosure process in Vermont, from demand to recording of foreclosure deeds.
  • Represent the interests of mortgage lenders and servicers in all stages of the foreclosure process in Vermont.
  • Review all statutorily required notices, correspondence, pleadings, and other documents.
  • Efficiently and effectively prepare and respond to written inquiries or disputes.
  • Attend and argue motions and other hearings before the courts.
  • Attend mediation sessions related to foreclosure proceedings.
  • Work closely with and provide legal counsel to foreclosure clients throughout the foreclosure process.

 

Requirements:

  • Possess a Juris Doctor degree.
  • Admission to the Bar in the State of Vermont is required, or willingness to waive into Vermont.
  • Admission in other New England states is a plus.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar in the State of Vermont.

Experience:

  • Experience in foreclosure law and representing mortgage lenders/servicers is preferred.
