A law firm seeks an attorney with a strong background in municipal law and land use to join its Government and Regulatory Affairs Department in Hoboken, NJ. This position will focus on advising and representing public sector clients, navigating complex environmental, land use, and governmental matters. The ideal candidate will possess excellent legal acumen and a commitment to providing exceptional client service.

Duties

  • Represent public sector clients in legal matters related to municipal law, land use, and environmental regulations.
  • Provide legal advice on zoning, land development, environmental compliance, and government regulations.
  • Draft and review ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and other legal documents for government entities.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare detailed memoranda, reports, and recommendations.
  • Participate in hearings, meetings, and public forums to represent clients and advise on legal and regulatory issues.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience handling legal matters for public sector clients, particularly in municipal law and land use.
  • Proven experience with zoning, land development, and environmental regulations.
  • Licensed to practice law in New Jersey, and in good standing with the New Jersey State Bar.
  • No record of disciplinary actions or professional negligence claims.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the New Jersey State Bar.
