A law firm in Atlanta, GA, is seeking an experienced Renewables Attorney to join their team. This attorney will offer specialized legal counsel on a range of renewable energy projects, focusing on facilities operations and power purchase agreements. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience with renewable energy technologies, including wind, solar, hydroelectric, and fuel cells, and a strong understanding of smart grid technology, energy storage, and energy efficiency. The role demands excellent client service, interpersonal skills, and effective communication. Candidates must have a JD degree, be an active member in good standing of the Bar, and possess a portable book of business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal guidance on renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, hydroelectric, and fuel cell facilities.
  • Draft, negotiate, and manage power purchase agreements, facility operation agreements, and related contracts.
  • Offer strategic legal advice on regulatory compliance, facilities operations, and industry best practices.
  • Counsel clients on smart grid technology, energy storage solutions, and energy efficiency measures.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on emerging trends and technologies in the renewable energy sector.
  • Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to address legal issues and support project success.
  • Manage and resolve legal disputes and challenges related to renewable energy projects.
  • Develop and maintain a portable book of business, showcasing a strong client base in the renewable energy field.

Requirements:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active member in good standing of the Bar.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in renewable energy law.
  • Proven track record of a portable book of business.
  • In-depth knowledge of wind, solar, hydroelectric, and fuel cell technologies.
  • Familiarity with smart grid technology, energy storage systems, and energy efficiency.
