Job Overview:
A respected litigation defense law firm is seeking aggressive and goal-driven attorneys to join their Grand Rapids office. The firm is looking for candidates with broad-based experience in complex litigation, including premises liability, general negligence, bodily injury, construction defects, property, and products liability matters. Multiple positions are available, ranging from candidates with two to five years of experience to those with five to ten years or more. Successful candidates will be committed to zealously representing clients through all stages of litigation and will possess excellent research, writing, and communication skills.

Location:

  • Grand Rapids, MI

Duties:

  • Handle complex litigation matters, including premises liability, general negligence, bodily injury, construction defects, property, and products liability
  • Represent clients through all stages of the litigation process, from initial investigation to trial
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and discovery responses
  • Attend hearings, court conferences, and depositions
  • Collaborate with a team of attorneys and clients to devise strategies for case resolutions
  • Participate in settlement negotiations and mediations

Requirements:

  • Strong background in complex litigation, including premises liability, negligence, bodily injury, and products liability 
  • Should have 2-10 years of experience
  • Goal-oriented with a commitment to representing clients zealously
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage a caseload and work independently
  • Strong litigation skills, including the ability to draft motions, pleadings, and discovery responses
  • Willingness to work in a collaborative team environment

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in Michigan (required)

Skills:

  • Expertise in complex litigation, particularly in premises liability, general negligence, and products liability
  • Legal research and writing proficiency
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple cases
  • Trial preparation and courtroom experience
