Job Overview: A top-tier law firm is seeking an experienced associate attorney to join its Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation practice in Atlanta. This role involves advising a variety of clients, including startups, mid-sized companies, large corporations, government entities, and nonprofit organizations, on a comprehensive range of employee benefits and executive compensation matters. The ideal candidate will have significant experience handling issues such as executive compensation, equity compensation, and benefits-related matters in mergers and acquisitions.

Duties:

  • Provide legal advice on executive compensation, equity compensation, and employee benefits matters.
  • Manage and navigate benefits-related issues in mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including compensation agreements, plan documents, and compliance materials.
  • Advise clients across diverse industries, including startups, Fortune 1000 companies, public entities, and tax-exempt organizations.
  • Ensure client compliance with federal and state regulations related to employee benefits and executive compensation.
  • Assist with client representation in regulatory investigations, audits, and other compliance matters.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to address complex client needs regarding employee benefits and compensation.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 4-5 years of experience practicing law in employee benefits, executive compensation, and related legal fields.
  • Experience handling benefits-related aspects of mergers and acquisitions.
  • Strong academic credentials and the ability to work on complex and sophisticated legal issues.
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of clients across multiple sectors.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the state of Georgia.

Skills:

  • Expertise in executive compensation and employee benefits laws.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities for client-facing work.
  • Ability to manage complex, multi-faceted projects.
  • High-level organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.
  • Effective problem-solving and analytical skills.
