A law firm in Miami, FL, seeks a skilled Immigration Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in immigration law and demonstrate the ability to represent clients effectively in various immigration matters. The role involves handling a diverse caseload, providing strategic legal counsel, and advocating for clients in removal proceedings and immigration applications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Explain complex immigration concepts and present strategic solutions to clients.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a substantial workload of immigration cases efficiently.
  • Visit and conduct intakes with detained individuals at detention centers.
  • Prepare many immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions.
  • Review and adjust immigration applications/packets to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations regarding changes in immigration law.
  • Conduct strategic consultations with potential clients to determine the most effective immigration strategy.
  • Develop case strategies and prepare clients/witnesses for court or USCIS testimony.
  • Provide comprehensive legal analysis to clients to identify potential case benefits and strategies.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of experience in Immigration Law.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Proven record of advancing legal cases and managing a caseload effectively.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian Relief, EOIR proceedings, Legal Writing, Detained Cases, Citizenship matters, and other USCIS applications.
  • Familiarity with Case Management Software is preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a proactive approach to strategizing and problem-solving.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar in the state of Florida.
