Job Title: Immigration Attorney

Job Overview: A prominent law firm in Saint Louis, MO, is seeking a dedicated Immigration Attorney to join its dynamic legal team. The firm specializes in immigration-related cases, including asylum, removal defense, family-based applications, employment visas, and more. This position offers a fast-paced, challenging environment with the opportunity to engage with clients from diverse backgrounds. The attorney will have the opportunity to develop expertise in immigration law while representing clients in various immigration forums and collaborating with experienced legal professionals.

Duties:

  • Represent clients before Immigration Courts, USCIS, ICE, CBP, Board of Immigration Appeals, and federal courts.
  • Prepare and file applications and petitions for various immigration benefits.
  • Advise clients on potential relief and legal strategies.
  • Develop legal arguments and factual support for asylum and other immigration claims.
  • Conduct legal research on case law, regulations, and statutes related to immigration matters.
  • Represent clients in family-based immigration applications and consular processing.
  • Collaborate with partners, associates, and legal teams to ensure comprehensive client representation.
  • Draft legal documents in support of both affirmative and defensive applications, including federal litigation.

Requirements:

  • Active Bar admission in any state (MO, DC, or CA Bar preferred).
  • At least 1 year of experience in immigration law.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and handle responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Passion for immigration law and working with diverse client populations.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Valid Bar license (required).
  • MO, DC, or CA Bar is preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Excellent legal research and writing capabilities.
  • Familiarity with legal documents and immigration proceedings.
  • Ability to establish rapport with clients from various cultural backgrounds.
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly preferred.
