A law firm seeks a skilled and motivated Insurance Coverage Litigation Associate Attorney to join its Philadelphia office. The ideal candidate will bring 2+ years of relevant experience in insurance coverage litigation or similar areas of practice. Duties

  • Evaluate new insurance coverage cases to develop action plans, establish budgets, and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Identify pleading requirements and delegate tasks to legal assistants or paralegals as needed.
  • Draft and prepare discovery responses, manage document production and ensure timely compliance with procedural deadlines.
  • Attend depositions, hearings, and other discovery-related events, providing detailed reports on proceedings.
  • Negotiate settlements and manage the process of obtaining authority for settlement agreements.
  • Assist with trial preparation and, where appropriate, lead case strategies.
  • Maintain continuous communication with paralegals and legal assistants to ensure smooth case management and progress.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in insurance coverage litigation or a closely related field.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and in good standing with the state bar.
  • Prior insurance defense experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with an emphasis on client interaction and collaboration with internal teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and willingness to learn new database management systems.
  • Ability to think critically and strategize in high-pressure situations.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the Pennsylvania State Bar in good standing.
