Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm based in Dallas is seeking an experienced senior-level business attorney to join its General Counsel Services team. This opportunity offers the chance to engage with clients across various sectors, providing expert advice on complex commercial contracts, both domestic and international. The role involves working with sophisticated counterparties in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. A hybrid work arrangement is available. This position is ideal for an accomplished attorney who prefers a non-partnership career path while contributing to a collaborative, forward-thinking team.

Duties:

  • Review, negotiate, and manage complex commercial contracts with sophisticated counterparties.

  • Provide expert legal counsel to clients on domestic and international matters.

  • Lead transactions and manage client interactions, ensuring the highest standard of legal advice.

  • Handle multiple contract negotiations simultaneously while maintaining a focus on meeting tight deadlines.

  • Collaborate with a team of attorneys, supporting one another in achieving optimal outcomes for clients.

  • Communicate effectively with clients, counterparties, and internal team members, both in writing and verbally.

Requirements:

  • At least 7 years of experience in business law, particularly in contract review and negotiation.

  • Strong academic background with a J.D. from a nationally recognized and accredited law school.

  • Experience working in a law firm's in-house legal department, or a combination of both.

  • Admission to practice law in Texas is required.

  • Proven ability to manage complex matters in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • J.D. from a nationally recognized and accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Texas Bar is required.

Skills:

  • Exceptional ability to negotiate and review commercial contracts.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.

  • Leadership qualities with the ability to manage client relationships and lead deals.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
