Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm, located in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Patent Prosecution & Litigation Associate Attorney to join their dynamic team. The firm is looking for candidates with a strong background in patent law, specifically in either the Electrical Engineering & Software Team or the Mechanical Team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about IP law and possess the ability to handle a variety of challenging and complex legal matters related to patent prosecution and litigation.

Duties:

• Manage patent prosecution and litigation matters, including application drafting and patent filing.
• Advise clients on patent strategy, litigation tactics, and patent portfolio management.
• Represent clients before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and in court proceedings.
• Draft and prosecute patent applications, including patentability analyses and responses to office actions.
• Work with a diverse client base, ensuring the protection of intellectual property rights across various industries.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers and clients, to develop effective patent strategies.
• Perform research and analysis to support litigation efforts and other patent-related matters.
• Maintain organized records and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

• 3-6 years of experience in patent prosecution and litigation, including drafting patent applications.
• Strong technical background in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field such as mathematics or physics.
• Must be registered with the USPTO.
• Must be admitted to practice law in Georgia.
• Experience in other areas of intellectual property (IP) is a plus.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

Education:

• A degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a similar field such as physics or mathematics is required.

Certifications:

• USPTO registration is mandatory.
• Georgia Bar admission is required.

Skills:

• Expertise in patent prosecution and litigation.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Effective communicator with the ability to interact with clients and technical professionals.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
