Litigation Associate Attorney

Location:

• Melville, NY

Duties:

• Manage a variety of litigation matters, including insurance defense (motor vehicle, premises liability, construction/Labor Law), medical malpractice (defending hospitals/physicians), and commercial litigation.
• Handle cases from inception to trial, with increasing responsibilities based on experience.
• Collaborate with a team of attorneys to develop case strategies.
• Attend hearings, depositions, and trials.
• Draft and review legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and discovery requests.
• Provide clients with sound legal advice and representation.
• Participate in settlement negotiations and dispute resolution.

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of experience in litigation.
• Strong background in insurance defense, medical malpractice, or commercial litigation is preferred.
• Ability to manage cases independently, with oversight and support from senior attorneys.
• Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Ability to handle cases in city venues (Queens, Kings, New York, Bronx), as well as Westchester and Long Island.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar (required).
