Job Overview

A law firm seeks a dedicated and knowledgeable Associate Attorney to join its legal team. This role involves representing clients in debt collection and subrogation matters, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, and handling various litigation processes, including trials, mediations, and depositions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of creditor and debtor rights and be able to navigate complex legal disputes effectively.

Duties

  • Represent clients in debt recovery and subrogation matters, including settlement negotiations and legal proceedings.

  • Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis to support case strategies.

  • Draft and review legal documents such as demand letters, complaints, and settlement agreements.

  • Manage all aspects of litigation, from case initiation through trial preparation.

  • Oversee a caseload of debt collection and subrogation matters while ensuring deadlines are met.

  • Communicate with opposing counsel, judges, and court personnel to facilitate case resolutions.

  • Stay informed on changes in debt collection laws and industry regulations to ensure legal compliance.

  • Perform other related legal duties as required.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of debtor and creditor rights, as well as applicable state and federal laws.

  • Experience in debt collection and subrogation litigation.

  • Excellent negotiation and dispute resolution abilities.

  • Strong legal research and drafting skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple cases while meeting deadlines.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Highly organized with keen attention to detail.

  • Willingness to travel for court appearances and legal proceedings as needed.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Florida State Bar in good standing.

  • Valid Florida Driver’s License.
