A well-established law firm is seeking a skilled Personal Injury Lawyer to join its team in Garden City, NY. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling personal injury cases, including automobile accidents, construction site accidents, medical malpractice, and more. The firm is looking for an attorney who is passionate about representing injured plaintiffs and achieving favorable outcomes for clients. Location:

Duties:

  • Handle personal injury cases, including car accidents, trip & fall accidents, construction site accidents, nursing home cases, and medical malpractice matters.
  • Conduct and defend depositions, manage discovery demands and responses.
  • Prepare pleadings and case files for trial preparation.
  • Prepare expert witness disclosures and attend mediations and arbitrations.
  • Sign up new clients and handle case management through trial.
  • Collaborate with paralegals, calendar clerks, and other team members.
  • Participate in networking groups, bar associations, and Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs (expenses paid by the firm).
  • Take part in trial preparation and represent clients in court proceedings as necessary.
  • Opportunity for growth in both caseload management and financial earnings through referral fees.
  • Incentive: Conduct or defend one deposition per week to receive additional paid time off on Fridays.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in personal injury law, though training is available for the right candidate.
  • Must be admitted to the New York State Bar.
  • Strong knowledge of personal injury law and case management procedures.
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently and collaborate with team members.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and drafting legal documents.
  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice law in New York State.

  • Strong litigation and trial preparation skills.
  • Experience with depositions, mediations, and arbitrations.
  • Proficiency in legal research, drafting pleadings, and case management.
