Professional Liability Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A mid-sized law firm in the New York City Metropolitan Area is seeking a recent graduate (2022 or 2023) to join its Professional Liability department. The selected attorney will handle a range of professional liability claims, including lawyers professional liability (LPL), reinsurance, directors and officers (D&O), accountants professional liability (APL), and employment practices liability (EPL). The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and writing skills, be self-motivated, and thrive in a team-oriented environment.

Location:

Duties:

• Manage professional liability claims related to lawyers, directors and officers, accountants, and employment practices.
• Assist with reinsurance and coverage litigation matters.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
• Conduct research and analysis on insurance law and coverage issues.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop legal strategies.
• Prepare for litigation, including case management and client communications.

Requirements:

• Recent graduate (2022 or 2023) with a strong academic background.
• Admission to the New York Bar is required.
• Excellent writing, research, and analytical skills.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• New York Bar admission (required).
