Job Overview:
A rapidly growing personal injury law firm is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate Attorney to join its dynamic team. The firm specializes in a wide range of personal injury matters, from car accidents to wrongful death and traumatic brain injuries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation, including case management, depositions, motions practice, trial preparation, and jury trials. Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills are essential for success in this role.

Location:
Metairie, LA

Duties:

  • Analyze and manage assigned personal injury cases, from intake through resolution.
  • Draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, discovery requests, and responses.
  • Prepare and conduct depositions of fact and expert witnesses.
  • Interview and prepare witnesses for trial.
  • Represent clients in court and at government agency hearings.
  • Participate in mediations and negotiate settlements for legal disputes.
  • Prepare and present oral arguments in court.
  • Handle case-related administrative tasks and ensure compliance with legal standards and regulations.
  • Maintain client communication and provide legal advice on case developments.
  • Work collaboratively with a team to meet deadlines and case objectives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by senior attorneys.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of personal injury law experience preferred.
  • Proven experience in managing litigation cases, including depositions and jury trials.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience handling confidential and sensitive information with integrity.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in settlement discussions.

Education:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed and in good standing with the State of Louisiana.
  • Louisiana Bar License is required.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
  • Strong courtroom presence and trial advocacy skills.
  • Experience with legal software and case management tools.
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English) is a plus.
  • Moot Court or Law Review experience is a plus.
