Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Client Engagement:
    • Build trust and establish rapport with clients.
    • Gather detailed information regarding the incident, liability, damages, and coverage.
    • Outline action items for the client and the team to prepare the case for success.
  • Investigation & Case Development:
    • Direct investigations to gather critical evidence for trial.
    • Analyze insurance coverage to maximize client recovery.
    • Use creative strategies to strengthen case positions.
  • Negotiation & Settlement:
    • Prepare cases for trial while calculating Full Settlement Value.
    • Cultivate strong relationships with adjusters and negotiate settlements.
    • When necessary, file suit and lead clients through the litigation journey.
  • Litigation & Trial Preparation:
    • Draft pleadings and discovery documents for lawsuits.
    • Strategize and prepare for trial, mediation, or arbitration.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Participate in daily team huddles and case reviews.
    • Work cohesively with support staff, including case managers, paralegals, and investigators, to drive case progress.
    • Review and sign key correspondence prepared by the team.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of managing cases through to resolution.
  • Ability to manage a high caseload while maintaining client satisfaction.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation and litigation skills.
  • Self-motivated with a passion for client service and achieving justice.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of North Carolina.

Skills:

  • Strong case management and organizational abilities.
  • Experience in negotiating settlements and preparing cases for trial.
  • Proficiency in legal research, writing, and drafting legal documents.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and third parties.
