Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking a highly skilled Corporate/Employment Counsel to join their Dallas, TX office. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience in employment law at a nationally recognized law firm and possess a strong background in advising clients on various employment-related matters. This role demands a commitment to excellent academic standards, exceptional writing skills, superior organizational abilities, and a strong client-focused work ethic.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on employment-related compliance, including worker classification, wage and hour laws, immigration issues, union and collective bargaining matters, and equal opportunity laws.
  • Draft employment agreements and separation agreements.
  • Provide guidance on reductions-in-force and WARN Act issues.
  • Draft and advise on restrictive covenants.
  • Conduct employment-related due diligence and handle employment-related representations and covenants in transaction documents, as needed.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure effective resolution of employment-related legal issues.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of employment law experience at a nationally recognized law firm.
  • Proven experience in advising clients on employment-related compliance, drafting employment agreements, and managing employment-related transactions.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Superior writing skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • A client-team focused work ethic.
  • Membership in good standing with the TX Bar or eligibility to waive into the TX Bar.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas (or eligibility to waive in).

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of employment law and related regulations.
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
