Job Overview: A law firm is currently seeking a dedicated and motivated Criminal Defense Attorney to join its growing team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for criminal law and thrive in a fast-paced, courtroom environment. Prior experience in criminal law, especially as an Assistant District Attorney or Assistant Public Defender, is preferred. The successful candidate will have excellent research, organizational, and time management skills.

Location:

  • Cranberry Township, PA

Duties:

  • Represent clients in criminal defense cases, including pre-trial motions, trials, and post-conviction proceedings.
  • Draft legal documents, including motions, briefs, and other filings.
  • Research key case issues and provide detailed legal analysis.
  • Manage case load efficiently and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Stay current with legal developments and updates in criminal law.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss case strategies and developments.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in criminal law, particularly in a defense or prosecutorial role.
  • Strong courtroom presence with the ability to handle hearings and trials.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a high caseload and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active State Bar license in Pennsylvania (or the ability to obtain one if relocating).
