Job Overview

An international law firm is seeking a mid-level Corporate Associate to join its Kansas City office. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of strategic corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, fund formation, and securities matters. The ideal candidate will have 4–6 years of experience and a strong foundation in M&A, with demonstrated ability to manage deals, supervise junior associates, and work directly with clients in a collaborative environment.

Duties

  • Represent buyers and sellers in a variety of corporate transactions across multiple industries

  • Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents and related agreements

  • Conduct and manage due diligence processes and coordinate deal closings

  • Supervise junior associates and manage transactional support staff

  • Assist in client relationship management and communications

  • Participate in the structuring, formation, and management of private equity funds (preferred)

  • Provide general legal research and writing support for the corporate practice group

Requirements

  • 4–6 years of law firm experience in corporate transactional work

  • Substantial experience handling M&A transactions

  • Experience supervising and training junior associates on transactional matters

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and client needs with a high degree of professionalism

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school with strong academic credentials

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in the State of Missouri

  • Member in good standing with the Missouri Bar

Skills
