Lateral Associate Attorney with experience in commercial litigation

A law firm in Miami, FL is seeking a motivated Lateral Associate Attorney with experience in commercial litigation. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in handling discovery, conducting and defending depositions, drafting pleadings, and managing document review. In-court experience is preferred. Exceptional academic credentials, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills, are required. Bar admission in Florida or eligibility to promptly obtain admission is necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage a diverse caseload of commercial litigation matters.
• Conduct legal research and provide well-reasoned legal opinions.
• Draft, review, and revise legal documents including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Handle all aspects of discovery, including document production and e-discovery.
• Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, and trials as necessary.
• Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.
• Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation.
• Assist in developing case strategy and litigation tactics.

Requirements:

• JD degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Florida State Bar or eligibility to promptly obtain admission.
• 2+ years of experience in commercial litigation, including hands-on experience in courtroom proceedings.
• Strong understanding of civil procedure and litigation strategies.
