Job Overview
A law firm seeks a dedicated and knowledgeable Associate Attorney to join its Affordable Housing and Community Development Practice Group. This role offers the opportunity to handle a variety of legal matters related to affordable housing, real estate development, bond financing, and tax credit transactions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in real estate finance or affordable housing law and demonstrate the ability to manage complex legal projects while building and maintaining strong client relationships.

Duties

  • Advise clients on legal matters concerning affordable housing, real estate financing, and community development.

  • Assist clients with tax credit transactions, bond financing, and real estate development projects.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate legal agreements related to regulatory compliance and financial transactions.

  • Collaborate with senior attorneys, associates, and paralegals to provide strategic legal solutions.

  • Oversee client relationships, ensuring high-quality service and timely completion of legal matters.

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on affordable housing policies and real estate regulations.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing with the Texas State Bar.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in affordable housing, real estate, or real estate finance law.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects independently while maintaining strong client engagement.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Preferably ranked in the top third of graduating law school class.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the Texas State Bar.

  • Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical abilities.

  • Expertise in affordable housing law, real estate transactions, and financial structuring.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
