A reputable law firm, based in Detroit, MI, is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Protection (PIP) Attorney to join its team. This role involves working on No-Fault and Negligence litigation, offering an opportunity to handle a diverse caseload and engage with various aspects of legal work, including legal research, drafting motions, client negotiations, and more. The firm offers a collaborative environment that values integrity, client relations, and strategic legal thinking.

Duties:

  • Draft and review legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and discovery responses
  • Administer and attend depositions, and examine documents related to legal matters
  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients
  • Conduct thorough legal research and prepare summaries
  • Represent clients in court as necessary
  • Provide strategic legal advice to clients regarding PIP and No-Fault insurance cases
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Manage a caseload effectively, meeting deadlines and prioritizing tasks
  • Collaborate with team members while maintaining the ability to work independently

Requirements:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law in Michigan, or awaiting results of the Michigan Bar exam (if taken within the last six months)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information
  • Ability to think strategically and manage multiple competing priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on building and maintaining client relationships
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited US law school

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in Michigan (preferred)
