Job Overview:

A prominent law firm is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with litigation experience to join its insurance defense team in Purchase, NY. Duties:

  • Manage a personal caseload with oversight from partners
  • Draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and discovery responses
  • Conduct legal research and draft memorandums

  • Conduct and defend depositions
  • Attend site inspections and work with expert witnesses
  • Participate in mediations and settlement negotiations
  • Assist in trial preparation and attend trials as necessary

Requirements:

  • 1-5 years of experience in general liability defense
  • Strong analytical and legal research skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to manage a caseload and meet deadlines
  • Admission to the New York State Bar (required)
  • Connecticut Bar admission (preferred but not required)

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active New York State Bar membership (required)
  • Connecticut Bar admission (preferred but not mandatory)
